ABOUT ENVIROMATRIX ANALYTICAL, INC.
EnviroMatrix Analytical, Inc. (EMA), established in 1974, is a full service analytical chemistry
laboratory providing high quality analytical services on behalf of environmental consulting firms,
marine biology firms, waste treatment and disposal firms, pharmaceutical, medical device
manufacturers, maquiladoras, wastewater industry and various others. EMA has many satisfied
customers with whom we enjoy continued long-term business relationships. Among others, our
clients include: the US Navy, the City of San Diego, the County of San Diego, State and
Federal government, and other municipal, industrial, and Department of Defense entities.
LABORATORY FACILITY
EMA is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego within three separate facilities. The main facility is
a 6,400 sq. ft. floor plan housing a wide variety of analytical instrumentation and chemistry
laboratory areas. Approximately 90% of the main facility is dedicated to the analytical
laboratories. Separate laboratory areas are dedicated to semivolatile analysis, inorganic
analysis, and extraction for organic analysis, digestion for metals analysis, sample receiving,
metals analysis, and glassware cleaning. The second facility is located within the same
Business Park as the first facility and houses our microbiology and volatile analysis
laboratories. A third 900 sq. ft. facility located in National City, CA was necessary to
accommodate overflow to expand both capabilities and volume at EMA.
CAPABILITIES
EMA is designed to provide clients with a variety of analytical capabilities that respond to
complex technical and regulatory issues. EMA's laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art
analytical instrumentation to facilitate cost effective analyses of metals, organics, inorganic wet
chemistry, and microbiology. We also provide client specific analyses for complex projects
within a wide range of sample matrices. Our analytical expertise encompasses marine and
estuary sediment, marine tissue, hazardous waste, water, and soil. As a result of our expertise,
our clients rely on us to solve complex environmental problems that frequently require a
combination of routine analyses and project-specific methods.
On behalf of our clients, we also provide technical advice and can assist in the design of
sampling and analysis plans. EMA offers rapid turnaround to meet client needs for data-specific
or remedial reporting requirements.
EMA provides services to meet virtually any state or federal regulatory requirement pursuant to
the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Comprehensive Environmental
Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA),
the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). EMA has performed testing on projects
under the review of the Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE), California Department of Toxic
Substance Control (CA DTSC), California Department of Environmental Health (DEH),
California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB), Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA-Region 9), and Navy Facility Engineering Systems Command (NFESC).
